I would love to! I was in San Fran in 02 and really liked the city (was also in San Jose too) but no money and no permanent job yet.

Great review — and how much do I love the haiku! Seriously, I think there are a good number of people who respond more to that kind of “review” — “critique” — whatever you want to call it. Are you reading Oscar Wilde’s The Critic as Artist? Claudia La Rocco had recommended it a while ago and I had a discount coupon at Borders recently and saw a collection of his work and thought, great thing to use the coupon on. Even though the Culturist has grown now, I think we should still have that book discussion!

Thanks JAD – no, I sort of know how you feel. I was a tad disappointed at the opening during the actual New Works Festival, but I wasn’t sure if it was because it had been hyped up too much and there was no way it could match expectations, or if it was the work itself. I have a feeling that they may have been slightly under rehearsed. But whatever you saw then, seriously it’s so much better now. They were phenomenal in Orange County, so much better than when I remembered it the first time around. I guess we’ll see soon during their regular season!

Hi Jolene,
I think “Pas de deux” is a plural noun, so one “Pas de deux” or two “Pas de deux” or more should be spelled the same. SFB has a lot of great dancers, it’s no surprise for me that they can make a choreography look better that it deserves (some dances in the 10 new world premiere last season were easily forgettable). Maybe I am just a very picky person. LOL
